- 예수께서 이 말씀을 마치시고, 갈릴리를 떠나서, 요단 강 건너편 유대 지방으로 가셨다.
- 많은 무리가 예수를 따라왔다. 예수께서는 거기서 그들을 고쳐 주셨다.
- 바리새파 사람들이 예수께 다가와서, 그를 시험하려고 물었다. "무엇이든지 이유만 있으면, 남편이 아내를 버려도 됩니까?"
- 예수께서 대답하셨다. "사람을 창조하신 분이 처음부터 그들을 남자와 여자로 지으셨다는 것과,
- 그리고 그가 말씀하시기를 '그러므로 남자는 아버지와 어머니를 떠나서, 자기 아내와 합하여서 둘이 한 몸이 될 것이다' 하신 것을, 너희는 아직 읽어보지 못하였느냐?

- When Jesus had finished these words, He departed from Galilee and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan;
- and large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
- Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?"
- And He answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,
- and said, 'FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?

- 그러므로 그들은 이제 둘이 아니라 한 몸이다. 하나님이 짝지어 주신 것을 사람이 갈라놓아서는 안 된다."
- 그들이 예수께 말하였다. "그러면, 어찌하여 모세는, 이혼 증서를 써 주고 아내를 버리라고 명령하였습니까?"
- 예수께서 대답하셨다. "모세는 너희의 마음이 완악하기 때문에 아내를 버리는 것을 허락하여 준 것이지, 본래부터 그랬던 것은 아니다.
- 내가 너희에게 말한다. 음행한 까닭이 아닌데도 아내를 버리고 다른 여자에게 장가 드는 사람은, 누구나 간음하는 것이다."
- 제자들이 예수께 말하였다. "남편과 아내 사이가 그러하다면, 차라리 장가 들지 않는 것이 좋겠습니다."

- "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
- They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?"
- He said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way.
- "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."
- The disciples said to Him, "If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry."

- 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "누구나 다 이 말을 받아들이지는 못한다. 다만, 타고난 사람들만이 받아들인다.
- 모태로부터 그렇게 태어난 고자도 있고, 사람이 고자로 만들어서 된 고자도 있고, 또 하늘 나라 때문에 스스로 고자가 된 사람도 있다. 이 말을 받아들일 수 있는 사람은 받아들여라."
- 그 때에 사람들이 예수께 어린이들을 데리고 와서, 손을 얹어서 기도하여 주시기를 바랐다. 그런데 제자들이 그들을 꾸짖었다.
- 그러나 예수께서 말씀하셨다. "어린이들이 내게 오는 것을 허락하고, 막지 말아라. 하늘 나라는 이런 어린이들의 것이다."
- 그리고 그들에게 손을 얹어주시고, 거기에서 떠나셨다.

- But He said to them, "Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given.
- "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it."
- Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.
- But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
- After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.
