출애굽기 5:1-6:30

 모세는 바로 앞에 서서 이스라엘 백성을 보내어 광야에서 하나님께 절기를 지키게 할 것을 요청했다. 그러나 바로는 오히려 이스라엘 백성들의 고역을 더욱 무겁게 하였다. 이에 실망한 모세가 하나님께 기도하자 하나님께서는 다시 한번 이스라엘 백성을 구하실 것을 확신시켜 주셨다.
  
  바로와의 1차 대면(5:1-5:23)    
 
  1. 그 뒤에 모세와 아론이 바로에게 가서 말하였다. "주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말씀하시기를 '나의 백성을 보내라. 그들이 광야에서 나의 절기를 지켜야 한다' 하셨습니다."
  2. 그러나 바로는 이렇게 대답하였다. "그 주가 누구인데, 나더러 그의 말을 듣고서, 이스라엘을 보내라는 것이냐? 나는 주를 알지도 못하니, 이스라엘을 보내지도 않겠다."
  3. 그들이 말하였다. "히브리 사람의 하나님이 우리에게 나타나셨습니다. 우리가 광야로 사흘길을 가서, 주 우리의 하나님께 제사를 드릴 수 있게 허락하여 주십시오. 그렇게 하지 않으면, 주님께서 무서운 질병이나 칼로 우리를 치실 것입니다."
  4. 이집트의 왕은 그들에게 이렇게 대답하였다. "모세와 아론은 들어라. 너희는 어찌하여 백성이 일을 하지 못하게 하느냐? 어서 물러가서, 너희가 할 일이나 하여라."
  5. 바로가 말을 이었다. "그들이 이집트 땅의 백성보다도 더 불어났다. 그런데도 너희는 그들이 하는 일을 중단시키려 드는구나."
  1. And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.'"
  2. But Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and besides, I will not let Israel go."
  3. Then they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword."
  4. But the king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why do you draw the people away from their work? Get back to your labors!"
  5. Again Pharaoh said, "Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!"
  1. 바로는 그 날로, 이스라엘 백성을 부리는 강제노동 감독관들과 작업반장들에게 명령하였다.
  2. "너희는 벽돌을 만드는 데 쓰는 짚을 더 이상 이전처럼 저 백성에게 대주지 말아라. 그들이 직접 가서 짚을 모아 오게 하여라.
  3. 그러나 벽돌 생산량은 이전과 같게 하여라. 만들어 내는 벽돌의 수가 줄어들어서는 안 된다. 그들이 게을러서, 그들의 하나님께 제사를 드리러 가게 해 달라고 하면서 떠든다.
  4. 그들에게는 더 힘겨운 일을 시키고, 그 일만 하게 하여서, 허튼 소리에 귀를 기울이지 못하게 하여라."
  5. 이스라엘 백성을 부리는 강제노동 감독관들과 작업반장들이 나가서, 그들에게 이렇게 선포하였다. "바로께서 명령하시기를 '내가 너희에게 더 이상 짚을 주지 않겠다.
  1. So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters over the people and their foremen, saying,
  2. "You are no longer to give the people straw to make brick as previously; let them go and gather straw for themselves.
  3. "But the quota of bricks which they were making previously, you shall impose on them; you are not to reduce any of it. Because they are lazy, therefore they cry out, 'Let us go and sacrifice to our God.'
  4. "Let the labor be heavier on the men, and let them work at it so that they will pay no attention to false words."
  5. So the taskmasters of the people and their foremen went out and spoke to the people, saying, "Thus says Pharaoh, 'I am not going to give you any straw.
  1. 너희는 가서, 너희가 쓸 짚을 직접 구해 와야 한다. 그렇다고 해서 너희의 벽돌 생산량이 줄어들어서는 안 된다' 하셨다."
  2. 그래서 백성들은 온 이집트 땅에 흩어져서, 짚 대신으로 쓸 곡초 그루터기를 모아 들였다.
  3. "너희는, 짚을 공급받을 때만큼 벽돌을 만들어 내야 한다." 감독관들은 이렇게 말하며 그들을 몰아쳤다.
  4. 바로의 강제노동 감독관들은 자기들이 뽑아서 세운 이스라엘 자손의 작업반장들을 때리면서 "너희는 어찌하여, 어제도 오늘도, 벽돌 만드는 작업에서 너희가 맡은 일을 전처럼 다 하지 못하느냐?" 하고 다그쳤다.
  5. 이스라엘 자손의 작업반장들이 바로에게 가서 호소하였다. "어찌하여 저희 종들에게 이렇게 하십니까?
  1. 'You go and get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it, but none of your labor will be reduced.'"
  2. So the people scattered through all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.
  3. The taskmasters pressed them, saying, "Complete your work quota, your daily amount, just as when you had straw."
  4. Moreover, the foremen of the sons of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked, "Why have you not completed your required amount either yesterday or today in making brick as previously?"
  5. Then the foremen of the sons of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, "Why do you deal this way with your servants?
  1. 저희 종들은 짚도 공급받지 못한 채로 벽돌을 만들라고 강요받고 있습니다. 보십시오, 저희 종들이 이처럼 매를 맞았습니다. 잘못은 틀림없이 임금님의 백성에게 있습니다."
  2. 그러자 바로가 대답하였다. "이 게을러 터진 놈들아, 너희가 일하기가 싫으니까, 주께 제사를 드리러 가게 해 달라고 떠드는 것이 아니냐!
  3. 썩 물러가서 일이나 하여라. 너희에게 짚을 대주지 않겠다. 그러나 너희는 벽돌을, 맡은 수량대로 어김없이 만들어 내야 한다."
  4. 이스라엘 자손의 작업반장들은 매일 만들어야 하는 벽돌의 수를 줄일 수 없다는 말을 듣고서, 자기들이 곤경에 빠졌음을 알았다.
  5. 그들은 바로 앞에서 나오다가, 자기들을 만나려고 서 있는 모세와 아론과 마주쳤다.
  1. "There is no straw given to your servants, yet they keep saying to us, 'Make bricks!' And behold, your servants are being beaten; but it is the fault of your own people."
  2. But he said, "You are lazy, very lazy; therefore you say, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.'
  3. "So go now and work; for you will be given no straw, yet you must deliver the quota of bricks."
  4. The foremen of the sons of Israel saw that they were in trouble because they were told, "You must not reduce your daily amount of bricks."
  5. When they left Pharaoh's presence, they met Moses and Aaron as they were waiting for them.
  1. 그들은 이렇게 말하였다. "주님께서 당신들을 내려다 보시고 벌을 내리시면 좋겠소. 당신들 때문에 바로와 그의 신하들이 우리를 미워하고 있소. 당신들은 그들의 손에 우리를 죽일 수 있는 칼을 쥐어 준 셈이오."
  2. 이 말을 듣고서, 모세는 주님께 돌아와서 호소하였다. "주님, 어찌하여 주님께서는 이 백성에게 이렇게 괴로움을 겪게 하십니까? 정말, 왜 저를 이 곳에 보내셨습니까?
  3. 제가 바로에게 가서 주님의 이름으로 말한 뒤로는, 그가 이 백성을 더욱 괴롭히고 있습니다. 그런데도 주님께서는 주님의 백성을 구하실 생각을 전혀 하지 않고 계십니다."
  1. They said to them, "May the LORD look upon you and judge you, for you have made us odious in Pharaoh's sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us."
  2. Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, "O Lord, why have You brought harm to this people? Why did You ever send me?
  3. "Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done harm to this people, and You have not delivered Your people at all."
 
  언약의 하나님(6:1-6:30)    
 
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "이제 너는, 내가 바로에게 하는 일을 보게 될 것이다. 틀림없이 그는 강한 손에 밀려서, 그들을 내보내게 될 것이다. 강한 손에 밀려서야, 그들을 이 땅에서 내쫓다시피 할 것이다."
  2. 하나님이 모세에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "나는 '주'다.
  3. 나는 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 '전능한 하나님'으로는 나타났으나, 그들에게 나의 이름을 '여호와'로는 알리지 않았다.
  4. 나는 또한, 그들이 한동안 나그네로 몸붙여 살던 가나안 땅을 그들에게 주기로 그들과 언약을 세웠는데,
  5. 이제 나는 이집트 사람이 종으로 부리는 이스라엘 자손의 신음소리를 듣고, 내가 세운 언약을 생각한다.
  1. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for under compulsion he will let them go, and under compulsion he will drive them out of his land."
  2. God spoke further to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD;
  3. and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, LORD, I did not make Myself known to them.
  4. "I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they sojourned.
  5. "Furthermore I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.
  1. 그러므로 너는 이스라엘 자손에게 말하여라. '나는 주다. 나는 이집트 사람들이 너희를 강제로 부리지 못하게 거기에서 너희를 이끌어 내고, 그 종살이에서 너희를 건지고, 나의 팔을 펴서 큰 심판을 내리면서, 너희를 구하여 내겠다.
  2. 그래서 너희를 나의 백성으로 삼고, 나는 너희의 하나님이 될 것이다. 그러면 너희는, 내가 주 곧 너희를 이집트 사람의 강제노동에서 이끌어 낸 너희의 하나님임을 알게 될 것이다.
  3. 내가, 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 주기로 손을 들어 맹세한 그 땅으로 너희를 데리고 가서, 그 땅을 너희에게 주어, 너희의 소유가 되게 하겠다. 나는 주다.'"
  4. 모세가 이스라엘 자손에게 이와 같이 전하였으나, 그들은 무거운 노동에 지치고 기가 죽어서, 모세의 말을 들으려고 하지 않았다.
  5. 주님께서 모세에게 이르셨다.
  1. "Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
  2. 'Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
  3. 'I will bring you to the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you for a possession; I am the LORD.'"
  4. So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on account of their despondency and cruel bondage.
  5. Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
  1. "너는 이집트의 왕 바로에게 가서, 이스라엘 자손을 그의 나라에서 내보내라고 하여라."
  2. 이에 모세가 주님께 아뢰었다. "이스라엘 자손도 저의 말을 듣지 않는데, 어찌 바로가 저의 말을 듣겠습니까? 저는 입이 둔하여 말을 할 줄 모릅니다."
  3. 주님께서는 모세와 아론에게 이스라엘 자손을 이집트 땅에서 인도하여 내라고 명하셨는데, 이 사실을 이스라엘 자손에게도 알리고 이집트 왕 바로에게도 알리라고 모세와 아론에게 명하셨다.
  4. 모세와 아론의 조상은 이러하다. 이스라엘의 맏아들 르우벤의 아들들은 하녹과 발루와 헤스론과 갈미인데, 이들이 르우벤 가문이다.
  5. 시므온의 아들들은 여무엘과 야민과 오핫과 야긴과 소할과, 가나안 여자가 낳은 아들 사울인데, 이들이 시므온 가문이다.
  1. "Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the sons of Israel go out of his land."
  2. But Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am unskilled in speech?"
  3. Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a charge to the sons of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
  4. These are the heads of their fathers' households. The sons of Reuben, Israel's firstborn: Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.
  5. The sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon.
  1. 레위의 아들들의 이름은, 그 태어난 순서대로, 게르손과 고핫과 므라리인데, 레위는 백삼십칠 년을 살았다.
  2. 게르손의 아들들은 가문별로는 립니와 시므이이다.
  3. 고핫의 아들들은 아므람과 이스할과 헤브론과 웃시엘인데, 고핫은 백삼십삼 년을 살았다.
  4. 므라리의 아들들은 마흘리와 무시이다. 이들이 세대별로 본 레위 가문이다.
  5. 아므람은 자기의 고모 요게벳을 아내로 맞아 아론과 모세를 낳았다. 아므람은 백삼십칠 년을 살았다.
  1. These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon and Kohath and Merari; and the length of Levi's life was one hundred and thirty-seven years.
  2. The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.
  3. The sons of Kohath: Amram and Izhar and Hebron and Uzziel; and the length of Kohath's life was one hundred and thirty-three years.
  4. The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.
  5. Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses; and the length of Amram's life was one hundred and thirty-seven years.
  1. 이스할의 아들들은 고라와 네벡과 시그리이다.
  2. 웃시엘의 아들들은 미사엘과 엘사반과 시드리이다.
  3. 아론은, 암미나답의 딸이요 나손의 누이인 엘리세바와 결혼하여, 나답과 아비후와 엘르아살과 이다말을 낳았다.
  4. 고라의 아들들은 앗실과 엘가나와 아비아삽인데, 이들은 고라 가문이다.
  5. 아론의 아들 엘르아살은 부디엘의 한 딸과 결혼하여, 비느하스를 낳았다. 이들이 다 가문별로 본 레위 일가의 조상이다.
  1. The sons of Izhar: Korah and Nepheg and Zichri.
  2. The sons of Uzziel: Mishael and Elzaphan and Sithri.
  3. Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
  4. The sons of Korah: Assir and Elkanah and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.
  5. Aaron's son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers' households of the Levites according to their families.
  1. 이스라엘 자손을 부대별로 편성하여 이집트 땅에서 인도하여 내라는 주님의 분부를 받은 이들이, 바로 이들 아론과 모세이고,
  2. 이집트의 왕 바로에게 가서 이스라엘 자손을 내보내 달라고 말한 이들도, 바로 이들 모세와 아론이다.
  3. 주님께서 이집트 땅에서 모세에게 말씀하실 때이다.
  4. 주님께서 모세에게 이르시기를 "나는 주다. 너는 내가 너에게 하는 말을 모두 이집트의 임금 바로에게 전하여라" 하셨다.
  5. 그러나 모세는 주님께 이렇게 대답하였다. "보십시오, 저는 입이 둔하여 말을 할 줄 모릅니다. 바로가 어찌 저의 말을 듣겠습니까?"
  1. It was the same Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, "Bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts."
  2. They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the sons of Israel from Egypt; it was the same Moses and Aaron.
  3. Now it came about on the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,
  4. that the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, "I am the LORD; speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak to you."
  5. But Moses said before the LORD, "Behold, I am unskilled in speech; how then will Pharaoh listen to me?"
