- 주님, 나를 구원하신 하나님, 낮이나 밤이나, 내가 주님 앞에 부르짖습니다.
- 내 기도가 주님께 이르게 하시고, 내 울부짖음에 귀를 기울여 주십시오.
- 아, 나는 고난에 휩싸이고, 내 목숨은 스올의 문턱에 다다랐습니다.
- 나는 무덤으로 내려가는 사람과 다름이 없으며, 기력을 다 잃은 사람과 같이 되었습니다.
- 이 몸은 또한 죽은 자들 가운데 버림을 받아서, 무덤에 누워 있는 살해된 자와 같습니다. 나는 주님의 기억에서 사라진 자와 같으며, 주님의 손에서 끊어진 자와도 같습니다.

- 주님께서는 나를 구덩이의 밑바닥, 칠흙 같이 어두운 곳에 던져 버리셨습니다.
- 주님은 주님의 진노로 나를 짓눌렀으며, 주님의 파도로 나를 압도하셨습니다. （셀라）
- 주님께서는 나의 가까운 친구들마저 내게서 멀리 떠나가게 하시고, 나를 그들 보기에 역겨운 것이 되게 하시니, 나는 갇혀서, 빠져 나갈 수 없는 몸이 되었습니다.
- 고통으로 나는 눈마저 흐려졌습니다. 주님, 내가 온종일 주님께 부르짖으며, 주님을 바라보면서, 두 손을 들고 기도하였습니다.
- 주님은 죽은 사람에게 기적을 베푸시렵니까? 혼백이 일어나서 주님을 찬양하겠습니까? （셀라）

- You have put me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the depths.
- Your wrath has rested upon me, And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah.
- You have removed my acquaintances far from me; You have made me an object of loathing to them; I am shut up and cannot go out.
- My eye has wasted away because of affliction; I have called upon You every day, O LORD; I have spread out my hands to You.
- Will You perform wonders for the dead? Will the departed spirits rise and praise You? Selah.
