열왕기하 9:1-10:17

 예후가 반역을 일으켜 요람과 아하시야를 죽이고 북왕국의 왕이 되었다. 그는 이세벨을 처단하고 아합 왕가를 진멸하므로써 아합 왕가에 대한 하나님의 심판을 행하였다.
  
  예후의 반역(9:1-9:37)    
 
  1. 예언자 엘리사가 예언자 수련생들 가운데서 한 사람을 불러 말하였다. "너는 허리를 단단히 묶고, 손에 이 기름병을 들고, 길르앗의 라못으로 가거라.
  2. 거기에 가면, 그 곳에서 님시의 손자이며 여호사밧의 아들인 예후를 만나게 될 것이다. 그러면 안에 들어가, 그의 동료들 사이에서 그를 불러내어 밀실로 데리고 들어가거라.
  3. 그리고 기름병을 기울여 그의 머리에 부으며 '나 주가 말한다. 내가 너를 이스라엘의 왕으로 세웠다' 하고 말하여라. 그렇게 말한 다음에 너는 문을 열고 속히 도망하여라. 지체해서는 안 된다."

  1. Now Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, "Gird up your loins, and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramoth-gilead.
  2. "When you arrive there, search out Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and bid him arise from among his brothers, and bring him to an inner room.
  3. "Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, 'Thus says the LORD, "I have anointed you king over Israel."' Then open the door and flee and do not wait."
  4. So the young man, the servant of the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.
  5. When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting, and he said, "I have a word for you, O captain." And Jehu said, "For which one of us?" And he said, "For you, O captain."
  1. 예후가 일어나서 집 안으로 들어가자, 예언자의 시종인 그 젊은이는 그의 머리에 기름을 부으며 말하였다. "나 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 내가 너에게 기름을 부어, 주님의 백성 이스라엘의 왕으로 세웠다.

  4. 나는 아합의 가문을 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 가문과 같이 만들고, 아히야의 아들 바아사의 가문과 같이 만들 것이다.
  5. 그리고 개들이 이스르엘 땅 안에서 이세벨을 뜯어 먹을 것이다. 그를 매장할 사람조차 없을 것이다." 그리고 난 뒤에 예언자의 시종인 그 젊은이는 문을 열고 도망하였다.
  1. He arose and went into the house, and he poured the oil on his head and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.
  2. 'You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.
  3. 'For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male person both bond and free in Israel.
  4. 'I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
  5. 'The dogs shall eat Jezebel in the territory of Jezreel, and none shall bury her.'" Then he opened the door and fled.

  3. 그러자 그들은 황급히 일어나, 각자 자기의 옷을 벗어서, 섬돌 위 예후의 발 아래에 깔고, 나팔을 불며 "예후께서 임금님이 되셨다" 하고 외쳤다.
  4. 그리하여 님시의 손자이며 여호사밧의 아들인 예후는, 요람을 칠 모의를 하게 되었다. 그 때에 요람은 이스라엘 전군을 이끌고, 시리아 왕 하사엘과 맞서서 길르앗의 라못을 지키고 있었다.
  5. 요람 왕이 시리아 왕 하사엘과 싸울 때, 시리아 사람에게 다친 상처를 치료하려고 이스르엘로 돌아와 있을 때였다. 마침내 예후가 말하였다. "장군들이 나와 뜻을 같이 한다면, 아무도 이 성읍을 빠져 나가서, 이스르엘에 이 사실을 알리는 일이 없도록 해주시오."
  1. Now Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, "Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?" And he said to them, "You know very well the man and his talk."
  2. They said, "It is a lie, tell us now." And he said, "Thus and thus he said to me, 'Thus says the LORD, "I have anointed you king over Israel."'"
  3. Then they hurried and each man took his garment and placed it under him on the bare steps, and blew the trumpet, saying, "Jehu is king!"
  4. So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram with all Israel was defending Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Aram,
  5. but King Joram had returned to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him when he fought with Hazael king of Aram. So Jehu said, "If this is your mind, then let no one escape or leave the city to go tell it in Jezreel."

  4. 그리하여 왕이 두 번째 기마병을 보내자, 그가 그들에게 가서 말하였다. "임금님께서 평화의 소식이냐고 물어 보라 하셨소." 그러자 예후가 말하였다. "평화의 소식인지 아닌지가 너와 무슨 상관이 있느냐? 너는 내 뒤를 따르라."
  5. 파수병이 왕에게 또 보고하였다. "그들에게 간 전령이 또 돌아오지 않습니다. 그런데 미친 듯이 말을 모는 모습이, 님시의 아들 예후와 비슷합니다."
  1. Then Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram was lying there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
  2. Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel and he saw the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company." And Joram said, "Take a horseman and send him to meet them and let him say, 'Is it peace?'"
  3. So a horseman went to meet him and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu said, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me." And the watchman reported, "The messenger came to them, but he did not return."
  4. Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu answered, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me."
  5. The watchman reported, "He came even to them, and he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously."
  1. 이 말을 듣자, 요람은 "병거를 준비하라!" 하고 명령하였다. 병거를 준비하니, 이스라엘 왕 요람과 유다 왕 아하시야가 각각 자기의 병거를 타고 예후를 만나러 나가서, 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 땅에서 그를 만났다.
  2. 요람이 예후를 보고 "예후 장군, 평화의 소식이오?" 하고 물었다. 예후는 "당신의 어머니 이세벨이 저지른 음행과 마술 행위가 극에 달하였는데, 무슨 평화가 있겠소?" 하고 대답하였다.
  3. 요람이 그의 손에 쥔 말고삐를 급히 돌려 도망하면서, 아하시야에게 소리쳤다. "아하시야 임금님, 반역이오."
  4. 예후가 힘껏 활을 당겨 요람의 등을 겨누어 쏘자, 화살이 그의 가슴을 꿰뚫고 나갔다. 그는 병거 바닥에 엎드러졌다.
  5. 예후가 요람의 빗갈 시종무관에게 말하였다. "그 주검을 들고 가서, 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 밭에 던지시오. 당신은, 나와 당신이 그의 아버지 아합의 뒤에서 나란히 병거를 타고 다닐 때에, 주님께서 그를 두고 선포하신 말씀을 그대로 기억할 것이오.
  1. Then Joram said, "Get ready." And they made his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu and found him in the property of Naboth the Jezreelite.
  2. When Joram saw Jehu, he said, "Is it peace, Jehu?" And he answered, "What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?"
  3. So Joram reined about and fled and said to Ahaziah, "There is treachery, O Ahaziah!"
  4. And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength and shot Joram between his arms; and the arrow went through his heart and he sank in his chariot.
  5. Then Jehu said to Bidkar his officer, "Take him up and cast him into the property of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite, for I remember when you and I were riding together after Ahab his father, that the LORD laid this oracle against him:
  1. 주님께서 아합에게 '내가 어제, 나봇과 그의 아들들이 함께 흘린 피를 분명히 보았다. 바로 이 밭에서 내가 너에게 그대로 갚겠다. 이것은 나 주의 말이다' 하고 말씀하셨소. 이제 당신은 그 주검을 들고 가서, 주님의 말씀대로 그 밭에 던지시오."
  2. 유다의 아하시야 왕은 이것을 보고 벳하간으로 가는 길로 도망하였으나, 예후가 그의 뒤를 추적하며 "저 자도 죽여라" 하고 외치니, 이블르암 부근 구르 오르막길에서 예후의 부하들이, 병거에 타고 있는 아하시야를 찔러 상처를 입혔다. 그는 므깃도까지 도망하여, 그 곳에서 죽었다.
  3. 그의 부하들이 그를 병거에 실어 예루살렘으로 운반하고, 그를 '다윗 성'에 있는 그의 조상들의 묘지에 함께 장사지냈다.
  4. 아합의 아들 요람 왕 제 십일년에 아하시야가 유다를 다스리는 왕이 되었다.

  1. 'Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons,' says the LORD, 'and I will repay you in this property,' says the LORD. Now then, take and cast him into the property, according to the word of the LORD."
  2. When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house And Jehu pursued him and said, "Shoot him too, in the chariot " So they shot him at the ascent of Gur, which is at Ibleam. But he fled to Megiddo and died there.
  3. Then his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his grave with his fathers in the city of David.
  4. Now in the eleventh year of Joram, the son of Ahab, Ahaziah became king over Judah.
  5. When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out the window.
  1. 예후가 문 안으로 들어오자, 이세벨이 소리쳤다. "제 주인을 살해한 시므리 같은 자야, 그게 평화냐?"
  2. 예후가 얼굴을 들어 창문을 쳐다보며 소리쳤다. "내 편이 될 사람이 누구냐? 누가 내 편이냐?" 그러자 두세 명의 내관이 그를 내려다보았다.
  3. 예후가 그들에게 명령하였다. "그 여자를 아래로 내던져라." 그들이 그 여자를 아래로 내던지니, 피가 벽과 말에게까지 튀었다. 예후가 탄 말이 그 여자의 주검을 밟고 지나갔다.
  4. 예후가 궁으로 들어가서, 먹고 마시다가 말하였다. "이제 저 저주받은 여자를 찾아다가 장사를 지내 주어라. 그래도 그 여자는 왕의 딸이었다."
  5. 그들이 그 여자를 장사지내 주려고 찾아 나섰으나, 그 여자의 해골과 손발밖에는 아무것도 발견할 수가 없었다.
  1. As Jehu entered the gate, she said, "Is it well, Zimri, your master's murderer?"
  2. Then he lifted up his face to the window and said, "Who is on my side? Who?" And two or three officials looked down at him.
  3. He said, "Throw her down." So they threw her down, and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall and on the horses, and he trampled her under foot.
  4. When he came in, he ate and drank; and he said, "See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter."
  5. They went to bury her, but they found nothing more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.
  1. 그들이 돌아와서 그에게 그렇게 보고하니, 그가 말하였다. "주님께서, 주님의 종 디셉 사람 엘리야를 시켜서 말씀하신 대로, 이루어졌다. 주님께서 말씀하시기를 '이스르엘의 밭에서 개들이 이세벨의 주검을 뜯어 먹을 것이며,
  2. 이세벨의 주검은 이스르엘에 있는 밭의 거름처럼 될 것이므로, 이것을 보고 이세벨이라고 부를 사람은 아무도 없을 것이다' 하셨는데, 그대로 되었다."
  1. Therefore they returned and told him. And he said, "This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 'In the property of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;
  2. and the corpse of Jezebel will be as dung on the face of the field in the property of Jezreel, so they cannot say, "This is Jezebel."'"
 
  아합 왕가의 진멸(10:1-10:17)    
 
  1. 아합의 아들 일흔 명이 사마리아에 살고 있었다. 예후가 편지를 써서 사본을 만들어, 사마리아에 있는 이스르엘의 관리들과 원로들과 아합의 아들들을 보호하고 있는 사람들에게 보냈다.
  2. "너희는 너희가 섬기는 상전의 아들들을 데리고 있다. 병거와 말과 요새화된 성읍과 무기도 가지고 있다. 이제 이 편지가 너희에게 가거든,
  3. 너희는 너희 상전의 아들들 가운데서 가장 훌륭하고 적합한 인물을 찾아서 그의 아버지의 왕좌에 앉히고, 너희는 너희가 섬기는 상전의 가문을 편들어서 싸우도록 하여라."
  4. 이에 사마리아의 지도급 인사들은 두려워하며 말하였다. "저 두 왕도 그를 당하지 못하였는데, 우리가 무슨 수로 그와 맞설 수 있겠소?"
  5. 그리하여 왕가를 지키는 사람들과 성읍을 다스리는 사람들과 장로들과 왕자들을 보호하는 사람들이, 예후에게 다음과 같은 전갈을 보냈다. "우리는 장군의 신하입니다. 장군께서 우리에게 말하는 것은, 무엇이든지 모두 그대로 하겠습니다. 우리는 어떠한 왕도 세우지 않겠습니다. 장군께서 보시기에 좋은 대로 하십시오."
  1. Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, the elders, and to the guardians of the children of Ahab, saying,
  2. "Now, when this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, as well as the chariots and horses and a fortified city and the weapons,
  3. select the best and fittest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house."
  4. But they feared greatly and said, "Behold, the two kings did not stand before him; how then can we stand?"
  5. And the one who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying, "We are your servants, all that you say to us we will do, we will not make any man king; do what is good in your sight."
  1. 예후가 그들에게 다음과 같이 두 번째 편지를 써서 보냈다. "너희가 내 편이 되어 내 명령을 따르겠다면, 너희 군주의 아들들의 목을 베어서, 내일 이맘때까지, 이스르엘에 있는 나에게로 가져 오너라." 그 때에 왕자들 일흔 명은 그들을 키워 준 그 성읍의 지도자들과 함께 있었다.

  4. 아침이 되었을 때에, 예후는 나가서 모든 백성에게 말하였다. "나는 내 옛 주인에게 역모를 꾀하여, 그를 죽였습니다. 백성에게는 아무 잘못이 없습니다. 그러나 여기에 있는 이 모든 사람은 누가 죽였습니까?
  5. 백성 여러분은 아합의 가문을 두고 말씀하신 주님의 말씀이, 그 어느 것 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 않았다는 사실만은 알아야 합니다. 주님께서는 그의 종 엘리야를 시켜 하신 말씀을 모두 이루셨습니다."
  1. Then he wrote a letter to them a second time saying, "If you are on my side, and you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel tomorrow about this time." Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.
  2. When the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and slaughtered them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.
  3. When the messenger came and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons," he said, "Put them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."
  4. Now in the morning he went out and stood and said to all the people, "You are innocent; behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?
  5. "Know then that there shall fall to the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spoke concerning the house of Ahab, for the LORD has done what He spoke through His servant Elijah."
  1. 그런 다음에 예후는, 이스르엘에 남아 있는 아합 가문에 속한 사람을 모두 쳐죽였다. 또 아합 가문의 관리들과 친지들과 제사장들을 하나도 남기지 않고 모두 죽였다.
  2. 그 다음에 예후가 이스르엘을 떠나 사마리아로 가는 길에 벳에켓하로임에 이르렀다.
  3. 예후는 거기에서 이미 살해된 유다의 아하시야 왕의 친족들을 만나, 그들이 누구인지를 물었다. 그들이 대답하였다. "우리는 아하시야의 형제들로서, 이세벨 왕후와 왕자들과 왕의 친족들에게 문안을 드리러 내려왔습니다."
  4. 그러자 예후는 그들을 생포하라고 명령하였다. 부하들은 그들을 생포하여, 벳에켓의 한 구덩이에 넣어 죽였는데, 무려 마흔두 명이나 되는 사람을 한 사람도 살려 두지 않았다.
  5. 예후가 그 곳을 떠나서 가다가, 그를 만나러 오는 레갑의 아들 여호나답을 만났다. 예후가 그에게 안부를 물으며 말하였다. "내가 그대를 진심으로 믿듯이, 그대도 그러하오?" 그러자 여호나답이, 그렇다고 대답하였다. 예후는, 그렇다면 손을 내밀라고 하였다. 그가 손을 내미니, 그를 수레에 올라오게 하였다.
  1. So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men and his acquaintances and his priests, until he left him without a survivor.
  2. Then he arose and departed and went to Samaria. On the way while he was at Beth-eked of the shepherds,
  3. Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah and said, "Who are you?" And they answered, "We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother."
  4. He said, "Take them alive." So they took them alive and killed them at the pit of Beth-eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.
  5. Now when he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him, "Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?" And Jehonadab answered, "It is " Jehu said, "If it is, give me your hand." And he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.
  1. 그런 다음에 예후가 말하였다. "나와 함께 가서, 주님을 향한 나의 열심이 어느 정도인지를 보도록 하시오." 예후는 여호나답을 자기의 병거에 태워 나란히 앉았다.
  2. 그리고 그는 사마리아에 이르러서, 거기에 남아 있는 아합의 지지자를 모두 죽였다. 이 모든 것은 주님께서 엘리야에게 말씀하신 대로 이루어진 것이다.
  1. He said, "Come with me and see my zeal for the LORD." So he made him ride in his chariot.
  2. When he came to Samaria, he killed all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke to Elijah.
