역대하 13:1-15:19

 르호보암에 이어 왕위에 오른 유다 왕 아비야는 북이스라엘 여로보암과의 전투에서 전력상 열세에도 불구하고 대승을 거두었다. 유다의 3대 왕 아사는 우상을 파하고 성읍을 건축하는 등의 선정을 베풀므로써, 세라의 침입시 하나님의 도우심을 받아 승리할 수 있었다. 아사는 아사랴의 예언을 듣고 종교 개혁을 시행했으며, 이에 하나님께서는 왕국의 평안을 허락하셨다.
  
  아비야의 유다 통치(13:1-13:22)    
 
  1. 여로보암 왕 십팔년에 아비야가 유다의 왕이 되었다.
  2. 그는 예루살렘에서 세 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 기브아 사람 우리엘의 딸, 미가야이다. 아비야와 여로보암 사이에 전쟁이 벌어졌다.
  3. 아비야는 전쟁에 용감한 군인 사십만을 뽑아 싸우러 나갔고, 여로보암 역시 정예 군인 팔십만을 뽑아서 맞섰다.
  4. 아비야가 에브라임 산간지역에 있는 스마라임 산 위에 서서 소리쳤다. "여로보암과 온 이스라엘은 내가 하는 말을 들어라.
  5. 주 이스라엘의 하나님께서 다윗과 소금으로 파기될 수 없는 언약을 맺으시고, 이스라엘을 다윗이 다스릴 나라로 영원히 그와 그의 자손에게 주신 것을, 너희들이 모를 리가 없을 것이다.
  1. In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.
  2. He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
  3. Abijah began the battle with an army of valiant warriors, 400,000 chosen men, while Jeroboam drew up in battle formation against him with 800,000 chosen men who were valiant warriors.
  4. Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, "Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel:
  5. "Do you not know that the LORD God of Israel gave the rule over Israel forever to David and his sons by a covenant of salt?
  1. 그런데 다윗의 아들 솔로몬의 신하였던 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 일어나서, 자기 임금에게 반역하였다.
  2. 건달과 불량배들이 여로보암 주변으로 몰려들어, 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암을 대적하였다. 그 때에 르호보암은 아직 어리고 마음도 약하여, 그들을 막아 낼 힘이 없었다.
  3. 너희는 수도 많고, 또 여로보암이 너희의 신이라고 만들어 준 금송아지들이 너희와 함께 있다고 해서, 지금 다윗의 자손이 맡아 다스리는 주님의 나라를 감히 대적하고 있다.
  4. 너희는 아론의 자손인 주님의 제사장들뿐 아니라 레위 사람들까지 내쫓고, 이방 나라의 백성들이 하듯이, 너희 마음대로 제사장들을 임명하지 않았느냐? 누구든지 수송아지 한 마리와 숫양 일곱 마리만 끌고 와서 성직을 맡겠다고 하면, 허수아비 신의 제사장이 되는 것이 아니냐?
  5. 그러나 우리에게는 주님만이 우리의 하나님이다. 우리는 그를 저버리지 않았다. 주님을 섬기는 제사장들은 다 아론의 자손이다. 레위 사람들도 자기들의 직무를 수행하고 있다.
  1. "Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master,
  2. and worthless men gathered about him, scoundrels, who proved too strong for Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, when he was young and timid and could not hold his own against them.
  3. "So now you intend to resist the kingdom of the LORD through the sons of David, being a great multitude and having with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made for gods for you.
  4. "Have you not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams, even he may become a priest of what are no gods.
  5. "But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the sons of Aaron are ministering to the LORD as priests, and the Levites attend to their work.
  1. 그들은 날마다 아침 저녁으로 주님께 번제를 드리고, 향을 피워 드리고, 깨끗한 상에 빵을 차려 놓고, 금등잔대에는 저녁마다 불을 밝힌다. 이렇게 우리는 주님께서 정하여 주신 법도를 지키고 있다. 그러나 너희는 그 법도를 저버렸다.
  2. 똑똑히 보아라, 하나님은 우리와 함께 계신다. 그가 우리의 우두머리이시다. 그의 제사장들은 너희를 공격할 때에 불려고, 비상 나팔을 들고 서 있다. 이스라엘 자손아, 너희 주 조상의 하나님과 싸울 생각은 하지 말아라. 이길 수 없는 싸움이 아니겠느냐?"
  3. 그러나 여로보암은 이미 복병에게, 유다 군 뒤로 돌아가 있다가 뒤에서 나오라고 지시하여 두었다. 복병이 매복하는 동안, 중심 공격 부대는 유다 군과 정면에서 대치하고 있었다.
  4. 유다 군이 둘러 보니, 앞뒤에서 공격을 받고 있는 것이 아닌가! 그래서 그들은 주님께 부르짖고, 제사장들은 나팔을 불었다.
  5. 유다 군이 함성을 지르고, 하나님께서 여로보암과 온 이스라엘을 아비야와 유다 군 앞에서 치시니,
  1. "Every morning and evening they burn to the LORD burnt offerings and fragrant incense, and the showbread is set on the clean table, and the golden lampstand with its lamps is ready to light every evening; for we keep the charge of the LORD our God, but you have forsaken Him.
  2. "Now behold, God is with us at our head and His priests with the signal trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the LORD God of your fathers, for you will not succeed."
  3. But Jeroboam had set an ambush to come from the rear, so that Israel was in front of Judah and the ambush was behind them.
  4. When Judah turned around, behold, they were attacked both front and rear; so they cried to the LORD, and the priests blew the trumpets.
  5. Then the men of Judah raised a war cry, and when the men of Judah raised the war cry, then it was that God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
  1. 이스라엘 군이 유다 군 앞에서 도망하였다. 하나님께서 이처럼 이스라엘 군을 유다 군의 손에 붙이셨으므로
  2. 아비야와 그의 군대가 이스라엘 군을 크게 무찔렀다. 이스라엘에서 뽑혀 온 정예병 가운데에 죽어 쓰러진 병사가 오십만 명이나 되었다.
  3. 이렇게 이스라엘 군이 항복하고 유다 군이 이긴 것은, 유다가 주 조상의 하나님을 의지하였기 때문이다.
  4. 아비야는 여로보암을 뒤쫓아 가서, 그의 성읍들, 곧 베델과 그 주변 마을들, 여사나와 그 주변 마을들, 에브론과 그 주변 마을들을 빼앗았다.
  5. 여로보암은 아비야 생전에 다시 힘을 회복하지 못하고, 주님께 벌을 받아서 죽고 말았다.
  1. When the sons of Israel fled before Judah, God gave them into their hand.
  2. Abijah and his people defeated them with a great slaughter, so that 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain.
  3. Thus the sons of Israel were subdued at that time, and the sons of Judah conquered because they trusted in the LORD, the God of their fathers.
  4. Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured from him several cities, Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages and Ephron with its villages.
  5. Jeroboam did not again recover strength in the days of Abijah; and the LORD struck him and he died.
  1. 그러나 아비야는 더 강해졌다. 그는 아내 열넷을 두었으며, 아들 스물둘과 딸 열여섯을 낳았다.

  1. But Abijah became powerful; and took fourteen wives to himself, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
  2. Now the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways and his words are written in the treatise of the prophet Iddo.
 
  아사의 유다 통치(14:1-14:15)    
 
  1. 아비야가 죽어서, 그의 조상들과 함께 잠드니, '다윗 성'에 장사하였고, 그의 아들 아사가 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다. 아사가 다스리던 십 년 동안은 나라가 조용하였다.

  1. So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, and his son Asa became king in his place. The land was undisturbed for ten years during his days.
  2. Asa did good and right in the sight of the LORD his God,
  3. for he removed the foreign altars and high places, tore down the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherim,
  4. and commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers and to observe the law and the commandment.
  5. He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah. And the kingdom was undisturbed under him.
  1. 주님께서 아사에게 평안을 주셨으므로 나라가 조용하였고, 여러 해 동안 아무도 그에게 싸움을 걸어 오지 않았다. 그래서 아사는 유다 지방에 요새 성읍들을 만들 수 있었다.
  2. 그는 유다 백성에게 말하였다. "이 성읍들을 다시 세웁시다. 성벽을 둘러 쌓고, 탑과 성문과 빗장을 만듭시다. 우리가 주 하나님을 찾았으므로, 주님께서 사방으로 우리에게 평안을 주셨습니다." 그래서 그들은 성읍들을 세우기 시작하여, 일을 잘 마쳤다.
  3. 아사에게는 방패와 창으로 무장한 유다 출신 군인 삼십만이 있었고, 작은 방패와 활로 무장한 베냐민 출신 군인 이십팔만이 있었다. 그들은 모두 용감한 정예병이었다.
  4. 에티오피아 사람 세라가 유다를 치려고, 백만 대군에 병거 삼백 대를 이끌고 쳐들어와서, 마레사에 이르렀다.
  5. 아사가 그를 맞아 싸우려고 나아가, 마레사의 스바다 골짜기에 진을 치고,
  1. He built fortified cities in Judah, since the land was undisturbed, and there was no one at war with him during those years, because the LORD had given him rest.
  2. For he said to Judah, "Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered.
  3. Now Asa had an army of 300,000 from Judah, bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 from Benjamin, bearing shields and wielding bows; all of them were valiant warriors.
  4. Now Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and 300 chariots, and he came to Mareshah.
  5. So Asa went out to meet him, and they drew up in battle formation in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
  1. 주 그의 하나님께 부르짖었다. "주님, 주님께서 돕고자 하실 때에는, 숫자가 많고 적음이나 힘이 세고 약함을 문제삼지 않으십니다. 우리가 주님을 의지하고, 주님의 이름으로 이 무리를 물리치러 왔으니, 주 우리의 하나님, 우리를 도와주십시오. 주님, 주님은 우리의 하나님이십니다. 인간이 주님을 이기지 못하도록 해주십시오!"
  2. 주님께서 에티오피아 군을 아사와 유다 군 앞에서 치시니, 에티오피아 군이 도망쳤다.
  3. 아사와 그를 따르는 군대가 그랄에 이르기까지, 에티오피아 군대를 추격하며 무찔렀다. 에티오피아 군은 주님 앞에서와 주님의 군대 앞에서 패망하고 말았으므로, 한 사람도 살아 남지 못하였다. 유다 군은 대단히 많은 전리품을 얻었다.
  4. 주님께서 그랄 주변의 모든 성읍 백성들을 두렵게 하시니, 유다 군이 그 모든 성읍을 치고 약탈하였다. 그 성읍들 안에는 전리품으로 가져 갈 물건들이 많이 있었다.
  5. 또 가축들을 지키는 자들의 장막을 덮쳐서 많은 양과 낙타를 사로잡았다. 그런 다음에야 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다.
  1. Then Asa called to the LORD his God and said, "LORD, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O LORD our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You."
  2. So the LORD routed the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
  3. Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar; and so many Ethiopians fell that they could not recover, for they were shattered before the LORD and before His army. And they carried away very much plunder.
  4. They destroyed all the cities around Gerar, for the dread of the LORD had fallen on them; and they despoiled all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.
  5. They also struck down those who owned livestock, and they carried away large numbers of sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
 
  아사랴의 훈계와 아사의 개혁(15:1-15:19)    
 
  1. 하나님의 영이 오뎃의 아들 아사랴에게 내리니,
  2. 그가 아사 앞에 나아가서 다음과 같이 말하였다. "아사 임금님과 온 유다와 베냐민은, 제가 하는 말을 들으십시오. 임금님과 백성이 주님을 떠나지 않는 한, 주님께서도 임금님과 백성을 떠나지 않으실 것입니다. 임금님과 백성이 그를 찾으면, 그가 만나 주실 것입니다. 그러나 임금님과 백성이 그를 버리면, 주님께서도 임금님과 백성을 버리실 것입니다.
  3. 이스라엘은 오랫동안 참 하나님이 없이 지내 왔습니다. 가르치는 제사장도 없었고 율법도 없었습니다.
  4. 그러나 이스라엘이 어려운 일을 만나서, 주 이스라엘의 하나님께 돌아와 그를 찾으면, 주님께서는 그들을 만나 주셨습니다.
  5. 그 때에는 세상이 하도 어지러워서, 땅 위에 사는 모든 백성이 마음 놓고 평안히 나들이도 못하였습니다.
  1. Now the Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded,
  2. and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, "Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you when you are with Him And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
  3. "For many days Israel was without the true God and without a teaching priest and without law.
  4. "But in their distress they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him.
  5. "In those times there was no peace to him who went out or to him who came in, for many disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands.
  1. 나라와 나라가, 성읍과 성읍이 서로 치고 무찌르는 판이었습니다. 이것은 하나님께서 사람들이 온갖 고난 속에서 고통을 받도록 버려 두셨기 때문이었습니다.
  2. 그러나 임금님과 백성은 기운을 내십시오. 낙심하지 마십시오. 임금님과 백성이 하는 수고에는 상급이 따를 것입니다."
  3. 아사는 이 모든 말, 곧 오뎃의 아들 아사랴 예언자가 전하여 주는 예언을 듣고, 용기를 내어, 유다와 베냐민 온 지방과 에브라임 산간지역의 점령지역 성읍에서 역겨운 물건들을 없애 버렸다. 그는 또 주님의 성전 현관 앞에 있는 주님의 제단을 보수하였다.
  4. 그는 또 유다와 베냐민의 모든 백성을 불러모으고, 그들에게로 와서 함께 살고 있는, 에브라임과 므낫세와 시므온 지파 소속의 백성도 모두 불러모았다. 주 하나님께서 아사와 함께 계시는 것을 보고, 이스라엘에서도 많은 사람들이 아사에게로 모여들었다.
  5. 그들이 예루살렘에 모인 것은 아사 왕 십오년이 되던 해 세 번째 달이었다.
  1. "Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every kind of distress.
  2. "But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work."
  3. Now when Asa heard these words and the prophecy which Azariah the son of Oded the prophet spoke, he took courage and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim He then restored the altar of the LORD which was in front of the porch of the LORD.
  4. He gathered all Judah and Benjamin and those from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who resided with them, for many defected to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
  5. So they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa's reign.
  1. 그 날 그들은 그들이 가져 온 전리품 가운데서 소 칠백 마리와 양 칠천 마리를 주님께 희생제물로 잡아 바치며,
  2. 마음을 다하고 정성을 다하여 주 조상의 하나님만을 찾기로 하는 언약을 맺었다.
  3. 주 이스라엘의 하나님을 찾지 아니하는 자는, 젊은 사람이든지 나이 많은 사람이든지, 남자든지 여자든지 가릴 것 없이, 누구든지 다 죽이기로 하였다.
  4. 사람들은 함성과 쇠나팔 소리와 뿔나팔 소리가 울려 퍼지는 가운데, 주님께 큰소리로 맹세하였다.
  5. 온 유다 백성은 이러한 맹세를 하는 것이 기쁘기만 하였다. 그들은 마음을 다해 맹세하고, 정성을 다해 주님을 찾았으므로, 주님께서 그들을 만나 주셨고, 사방으로 그들에게 평안을 주셨다.
  1. They sacrificed to the LORD that day 700 oxen and 7,000 sheep from the spoil they had brought.
  2. They entered into the covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and soul;
  3. and whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.
  4. Moreover, they made an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets and with horns.
  5. All Judah rejoiced concerning the oath, for they had sworn with their whole heart and had sought Him earnestly, and He let them find Him. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.
  1. 아사 왕은 자기의 할머니 마아가가 혐오스러운 아세라 목상을 만들었다고 해서, 태후의 자리에서 물러나게 하였다. 아사는 자기의 할머니가 만든 혐오스러운 우상을 토막내어 가루로 만들어서, 기드론 냇가에서 불살라 버렸다.
  2. 그렇다고 산당이 모두 제거된 것은 아니었지만, 주님을 사모하는 아사의 마음은 평생 한결같았다.
  3. 아사는 자기의 아버지와 자신이 거룩하게 구별하여 바친, 은과 금과 그릇들을 하나님의 성전에 들여놓았다.
  4. 이 때부터 아사 왕 삼십오년까지 전쟁이 없었다.
  1. He also removed Maacah, the mother of King Asa, from the position of queen mother, because she had made a horrid image as an Asherah, and Asa cut down her horrid image, crushed it and burned it at the brook Kidron.
  2. But the high places were not removed from Israel; nevertheless Asa's heart was blameless all his days.
  3. He brought into the house of God the dedicated things of his father and his own dedicated things: silver and gold and utensils.
  4. And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa's reign.
