에스라

  본서는 하나님께서 예레미야를 통해 말씀하신 예언(렘 29:10-14), 즉 이스라엘 민족을 70년간의 포로 생활 후 다시 가나안 땅으로 인도하시리라는 약속의 성취 과정을 기록하고 있다. 그래서 이스라엘의 회복, 신앙과 예배의 구심적인 성전 재건, 야웨 신앙의 순수성 확립을 강조하고 있다.

  이스라엘 민족의 귀환은 3차에 걸쳐 이루어졌는데, 1,2차 귀환의 내용이 본서에 기록되고 있다. 1차 귀환과 성전 재건은 스룹바벨과 예수아를 중심으로 이루어졌으며, 2차 귀환은 에스라를 중심으로 이루어졌다. 에스라는 도덕적, 영적으로 폐허가 된 유대인들의 마음에 하나님의 법을 재건하는 신앙 개혁 운동을 일으켰다.

 

 

에스라 1:1-2:70

 하나님께서는 바사 왕 고레스의 마음을 감동시키셔서 이스라엘 백성에게 유다 예루살렘에 올라가 하나님의 전을 건축하라는 조서를 내리게 하셨다. 바벨론에서의 포로 생활을 청산하고 예루살렘으로 귀환한 사람들의 명단이 기록되어 있다.
  
  고레스의 조서(1:1-1:11)    
 
  1. 페르시아 왕 고레스가 왕위에 오른 첫 해이다. 주님께서는, 예레미야를 시켜서 하신 말씀을 이루시려고, 페르시아 왕 고레스의 마음을 감동시키셨다. 고레스는 온 나라에 명령을 내리고, 그것을 다음과 같이 조서로 써서 돌렸다.
  2. "페르시아 왕 고레스는 다음과 같이 선포한다. 하늘의 주 하나님이 나에게 이 땅에 있는 모든 나라를 주셔서 다스리게 하셨다. 또 유다에 있는 예루살렘에 그의 성전을 지으라고 명하셨다.
  3. 이 나라 사람 가운데서, 하나님을 섬기는 모든 사람은 유다에 있는 예루살렘으로 올라가서, 그 곳에 계시는 하나님 곧 주 이스라엘의 하나님의 성전을 지어라. 그 백성에게 하나님이 함께 계시기를 빈다.
  4. 잡혀 온 하나님의 백성 가운데서, 누구든지 귀국할 때에 도움이 필요한 사람이 있으면, 그 이웃에 사는 사람은 그를 도와주어라. 은과 금과 세간과 가축을 주고, 예루살렘에 세울 하나님의 성전에 바칠 자원예물도 들려서 보내도록 하여라."
  5. 그 때에 유다와 베냐민 가문의 우두머리들과 제사장들과 레위 사람들과, 하나님께 감동을 받고 예루살렘으로 올라가서 주님의 성전을 지으려고 하는 모든 사람이, 길을 떠날 채비를 하였다.
  1. Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying:
  2. "Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
  3. 'Whoever there is among you of all His people, may his God be with him! Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel; He is the God who is in Jerusalem.
  4. 'Every survivor, at whatever place he may live, let the men of that place support him with silver and gold, with goods and cattle, together with a freewill offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.'"
  5. Then the heads of fathers' households of Judah and Benjamin and the priests and the Levites arose, even everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up and rebuild the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.
  1. 이웃 사람들은, 자원예물 외에도 은그릇과 금과 세간과 가축과 여러 가지 진귀한 보물을 주어서, 그들을 도왔다.
  2. 더욱이 고레스 왕은 주님의 성전에 속하여 있던 여러 가지 그릇까지 꺼내어 오게 하였는데, 그것들은 느부갓네살이 예루살렘에서 가지고 가서 자기의 신전에 둔 것이다.
  3. 페르시아 왕 고레스는 재무관 미드르닷을 시켜, 그 그릇들을 꺼내어 낱낱이 세어서, 유다 총독 세스바살에게 넘겨 주게 하였다.
  4. 넘겨 준 물품은 다음과 같다. 금접시가 서른 개요, 은접시가 천 개요, 칼이 스물아홉 자루요,
  5. 금대접이 서른 개요, 다른 것으로 대신 보충한 은대접이 사백열 개요, 그 밖에 다른 그릇이 천 개이니,
  1. All those about them encouraged them with articles of silver, with gold, with goods, with cattle and with valuables, aside from all that was given as a freewill offering.
  2. Also King Cyrus brought out the articles of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and put in the house of his gods;
  3. and Cyrus, king of Persia, had them brought out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and he counted them out to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
  4. Now this was their number: 30 gold dishes, 1,000 silver dishes, 29 duplicates;
  5. 30 gold bowls, 410 silver bowls of a second kind and 1,000 other articles.
  1. 금그릇과 은그릇은 모두 오천사백 개이다. 세스바살은, 포로로 잡혀 간 이들을 바빌로니아에서 예루살렘으로 데리고 올 때에, 이 그릇을 모두 가지고 왔다.
  1. All the articles of gold and silver numbered 5,400. Sheshbazzar brought them all up with the exiles who went up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
 
  귀환자 명단(2:1-2:70)    
 
  1. 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살에게 사로잡혀 바빌로니아로 끌려간 사람 가운데서, 많은 사람이 바빌로니아 각 지방을 떠나, 저마다 고향 땅인 예루살렘과 유다로 돌아왔다.
  2. 그들은, 스룹바벨과 예수아와 느헤미야와 스라야와 르엘라야와 모르드개와 빌산과 미스발과 비그왜와 르훔과 바아나가 돌아올 때에 함께 돌아왔다. 이스라엘 백성의 명단과 수는 다음과 같다.
  3. 바로스 자손이 이천백칠십이 명이요,
  4. 스바댜 자손이 삼백칠십이 명이요,
  5. 아라 자손이 칠백칠십오 명이요,
  1. Now these are the people of the province who came up out of the captivity of the exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon, and returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his city.
  2. These came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
  3. the sons of Parosh, 2,172;
  4. the sons of Shephatiah, 372;
  5. the sons of Arah, 775;
  1. 바핫모압 자손 곧 예수아와 요압 자손이 이천팔백십이 명이요,
  2. 엘람 자손이 천이백오십사 명이요,
  3. 삿두 자손이 구백사십오 명이요,
  4. 삭개 자손이 칠백육십 명이요,
  5. 바니 자손이 육백사십이 명이요,
  1. the sons of Pahath-moab of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, 2,812;
  2. the sons of Elam, 1,254;
  3. the sons of Zattu, 945;
  4. the sons of Zaccai, 760;
  5. the sons of Bani, 642;
  1. 브배 자손이 육백이십삼 명이요,
  2. 아스갓 자손이 천이백이십이 명이요,
  3. 아도니감 자손이 육백육십육 명이요,
  4. 비그왜 자손이 이천오십육 명이요,
  5. 아딘 자손이 사백오십사 명이요,
  1. the sons of Bebai, 623;
  2. the sons of Azgad, 1,222;
  3. the sons of Adonikam, 666;
  4. the sons of Bigvai, 2,056;
  5. the sons of Adin, 454;
  1. 아델 자손 곧 히스기야 자손이 구십팔 명이요,
  2. 베새 자손이 삼백이십삼 명이요,
  3. 요라 자손이 백십이 명이요,
  4. 하숨 자손이 이백이십삼 명이요,
  5. 깁발 자손이 구십오 명이다.

  2. the sons of Bezai, 323;
  3. the sons of Jorah, 112;
  4. the sons of Hashum, 223;
  5. the sons of Gibbar, 95;
  1. 베들레헴 사람이 백이십삼 명이요,
  2. 느도바 사람이 오십육 명이요,
  3. 아나돗 사람이 백이십팔 명이요,
  4. 아스마웻 사람이 사십이 명이요,
  5. 기랴다림과 그비라와 브에롯 사람이 칠백사십삼 명이요,
  1. the men of Bethlehem, 123;
  2. the men of Netophah, 56;
  3. the men of Anathoth, 128;
  4. the sons of Azmaveth, 42;
  5. the sons of Kiriath-arim, Chephirah and Beeroth, 743;
  1. 라마와 게바 사람이 육백이십일 명이요,
  2. 믹마스 사람이 백이십이 명이요,
  3. 베델과 아이 사람이 이백이십삼 명이다.
  4. 느보 사람이 오십이 명이요,
  5. 막비스 사람이 백오십육 명이요,
  1. the sons of Ramah and Geba, 621;
  2. the men of Michmas, 122;
  3. the men of Bethel and Ai, 223;
  4. the sons of Nebo, 52;
  5. the sons of Magbish, 156;
  1. 다른 엘람 사람이 천이백오십사 명이요,
  2. 하림 사람이 삼백이십 명이요,
  3. 로드와 하딧과 오노 사람이 칠백이십오 명이요,
  4. 여리고 사람이 삼백사십오 명이요,
  5. 스나아 사람이 삼천육백삼십 명이다.
  1. the sons of the other Elam, 1,254;
  2. the sons of Harim, 320;
  3. the sons of Lod, Hadid and Ono, 725;
  4. the men of Jericho, 345;
  5. the sons of Senaah, 3,630.
  1. 제사장은, 예수아 집안 여다야 자손이 구백칠십삼 명이요,
  2. 임멜 자손이 천오십이 명이요,
  3. 바스훌 자손이 천이백사십칠 명이요,
  4. 하림 자손이 천십칠 명이다.
  5. 레위 사람은, 호다위야의 자손들인 예수아와 갓미엘 자손이 칠십사 명이요,
  1. The priests: the sons of Jedaiah of the house of Jeshua, 973;
  2. the sons of Immer, 1,052;
  3. the sons of Pashhur, 1,247;
  4. the sons of Harim, 1,017.
  5. The Levites: the sons of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodaviah, 74.
  1. 노래하는 사람은, 아삽 자손이 백이십팔 명이요,
  2. 성전 문지기는 살룸 자손과 아델 자손과 달문 자손과 악굽 자손과 하디다 자손과 소배 자손인데, 모두 백삼십구 명이다.
  3. 성전 막일꾼은, 시하 자손과 하수바 자손과 답바옷 자손과
  4. 게로스 자손과 시아하 자손과 바돈 자손과
  5. 르바나 자손과 하가바 자손과 악굽 자손과
  1. The singers: the sons of Asaph, 128.
  2. The sons of the gatekeepers: the sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, in all 139.
  3. The temple servants: the sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth,
  4. the sons of Keros, the sons of Siaha, the sons of Padon,
  5. the sons of Lebanah, the sons of Hagabah, the sons of Akkub,
  1. 하갑 자손과 사믈래 자손과 하난 자손과
  2. 깃델 자손과 가할 자손과 르아야 자손과
  3. 르신 자손과 느고다 자손과 갓삼 자손과
  4. 웃사 자손과 바세아 자손과 베새 자손과
  5. 아스나 자손과 므우님 자손과 느부심 자손과
  1. the sons of Hagab, the sons of Shalmai, the sons of Hanan,
  2. the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar, the sons of Reaiah,
  3. the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda, the sons of Gazzam,
  4. the sons of Uzza, the sons of Paseah, the sons of Besai,
  5. the sons of Asnah, the sons of Meunim, the sons of Nephisim,
  1. 박북 자손과 하그바 자손과 할훌 자손과
  2. 바슬룻 자손과 므히다 자손과 하르사 자손과
  3. 바르고스 자손과 시스라 자손과 데마 자손과
  4. 느시야 자손과 하디바 자손이다.
  5. 솔로몬을 섬기던 종들의 자손은, 소대 자손과 하소베렛 자손과 브루다 자손과
  1. the sons of Bakbuk, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhur,
  2. the sons of Bazluth, the sons of Mehida, the sons of Harsha,
  3. the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Temah,
  4. the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha.
  5. The sons of Solomon's servants: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Hassophereth, the sons of Peruda,
  1. 야알라 자손과 다르곤 자손과 깃델 자손과
  2. 스바댜 자손과 핫딜 자손과 보게렛하스바임 자손과 아미 자손이다.
  3. 이상 성전 막일꾼과 솔로몬을 섬기던 종의 자손은 모두 삼백구십이 명이다.
  4. 이 밖에 델멜라와 델하르사와 그룹과 앗단과 임멜 등 여러 곳에서 사람들이 왔지만, 가문이 밝혀지지 않아서, 그들이 이스라엘 자손인지 아닌지는 알 길이 없다.
  5. 그들은, 들라야 자손과 도비야 자손과 느고다 자손인데, 모두 육백오십이 명이다.
  1. the sons of Jaalah, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel,
  2. the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Ami.
  3. All the temple servants and the sons of Solomon's servants were 392.
  4. Now these are those who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan and Immer, but they were not able to give evidence of their fathers' households and their descendants, whether they were of Israel:
  5. the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, 652.
  1. 제사장의 자손 가운데는, 호바야 자손과 학고스 자손과 바르실래 자손도 있는데, 이들 가운데서 바르실래는, 길르앗 지방 사람인 바르실래 집안으로 장가를 들어서, 장인의 이름을 이어받은 사람이다.
  2. 족보를 뒤져보았지만, 그들은 그 조상이 확인되지 않았다. 그래서, 제사장 직분을 맡기에는 적합하지 않다고 생각하여 그 직분을 맡지 못하게 하였다.
  3. 유다 총독은 그들에게, 우림과 둠밈을 가지고 판결을 내릴 제사장이 나타날 때까지는, 가장 거룩한 음식은 먹지 말라고 명령하였다.
  4. 돌아온 회중의 수는 모두 사만 이천삼백육십 명이다.
  5. 그들이 부리던 남녀 종이 칠천삼백삼십칠 명이고, 그 밖에 노래하는 남녀가 이백 명이다.
  1. Of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, the sons of Barzillai, who took a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and he was called by their name.
  2. These searched among their ancestral registration, but they could not be located; therefore they were considered unclean and excluded from the priesthood.
  3. The governor said to them that they should not eat from the most holy things until a priest stood up with Urim and Thummim.
  4. The whole assembly numbered 42,360,
  5. besides their male and female servants who numbered 7,337; and they had 200 singing men and women.
  1. 또 말이 칠백삼십육 마리요, 노새가 이백사십오 마리요,
  2. 낙타가 사백삼십오 마리요, 나귀가 육천칠백이십 마리이다.
  3. 가문의 우두머리 가운데는, 예루살렘에 있는 주님의 성전 터에 이르러서, 하나님의 성전을 옛 터에 다시 세우는 일을 도우려고, 자원예물을 바치는 이들도 있었다.
  4. 저마다 힘 자라는 대로 건축 기금을 마련하니, 금이 육만 천 다릭, 은이 오천 마네, 제사장의 예복이 백 벌이나 되었다.
  5. 제사장과 레위 사람과 백성 가운데서, 일부는 （예루살렘과 그 부근 마을에 자리를 잡고,） 노래하는 이들과 문지기들과 성전 막일꾼들은 그들의 고향 마을에 자리를 잡았다. 나머지 이스라엘 사람들은 저마다 고향에 자리를 잡았다.
  1. Their horses were 736; their mules, 245;
  2. their camels, 435; their donkeys, 6,720.
  3. Some of the heads of fathers' households, when they arrived at the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God to restore it on its foundation.
  4. According to their ability they gave to the treasury for the work 61,000 gold drachmas and 5,000 silver minas and 100 priestly garments.
  5. Now the priests and the Levites, some of the people, the singers, the gatekeepers and the temple servants lived in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
