- 우리가 들은 것을 누가 믿었느냐? 주님의 능력이 누구에게 나타났느냐?
- 그는 주님 앞에서, 마치 연한 순과 같이, 마른 땅에서 나온 싹과 같이 자라서, 그에게는 고운 모양도 없고, 훌륭한 풍채도 없으니, 우리가 보기에 흠모할 만한 아름다운 모습이 없다.
- 그는 사람들에게 멸시를 받고, 버림을 받고, 고통을 많이 겪었다. 그는 언제나 병을 앓고 있었다. 사람들이 그에게서 얼굴을 돌렸고, 그가 멸시를 받으니, 우리도 덩달아 그를 귀하게 여기지 않았다.
- 그는 실로 우리가 받아야 할 고통을 대신 받고, 우리가 겪어야 할 슬픔을 대신 겪었다. 그러나 우리는, 그가 징벌을 받아서 하나님에게 맞으며, 고난을 받는다고 생각하였다.
- 그러나 그가 찔린 것은 우리의 허물 때문이고, 그가 상처를 받은 것은 우리의 악함 때문이다. 그가 징계를 받음으로써 우리가 평화를 누리고, 그가 매를 맞음으로써 우리의 병이 나았다.

- Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
- For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
- He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
- Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
- But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.

- 우리는 모두 양처럼 길을 잃고, 각기 제 갈 길로 흩어졌으나, 주님께서 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 지우셨다.
- 그는 굴욕을 당하고 고문을 당하였으나, 아무 말도 하지 않았다. 마치 도살장으로 끌려가는 어린 양처럼, 마치 털 깎는 사람 앞에서 잠잠한 암양처럼, 끌려가기만 할 뿐, 아무 말도 하지 않았다.
- 그가 체포되어 유죄판결을 받았지만 그 세대 사람들 가운데서 어느 누가, 그가 사람 사는 땅에서 격리된 것을 보고서, 그것이 바로 형벌을 받아야 할 내 백성의 허물 때문이라고 생각하였느냐?
- 그는 폭력을 휘두르지도 않았고, 거짓말도 하지 않았지만, 사람들은 그에게 악한 사람과 함께 묻힐 무덤을 주었고, 죽어서 부자와 함께 들어가게 하였다.
- 주님께서 그를 상하게 하고자 하셨다. 주님께서 그를 병들게 하셨다. 그가 그의 영혼을 속건제물로 여기면, 그는 자손을 볼 것이며, 오래오래 살 것이다. 주님께서 세우신 뜻을 그가 이루어 드릴 것이다.

- All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.
- He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.
- By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
- His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.
- But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.

- "고난을 당하고 난 뒤에, 그는 생명의 빛을 보고 만족할 것이다. 나의 의로운 종이 자기의 지식으로 많은 사람을 의롭게 할 것이다. 그는 다른 사람들이 받아야 할 형벌을 자기가 짊어질 것이다.
- 그러므로 나는 그가 존귀한 자들과 함께 자기 몫을 차지하게 하며, 강한 자들과 함께 전리품을 나누게 하겠다. 그는 죽는 데까지 자기의 영혼을 서슴없이 내맡기고, 남들이 죄인처럼 여기는 것도 마다하지 않았다. 그는 많은 사람의 죄를 대신 짊어졌고, 죄 지은 사람들을 살리려고 중재에 나선 것이다."

- As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.
- Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.
