예레미야 15:1-16:21

 하나님께서는 유다가 파멸될 것임을 선언하시고, 그 때까지 예레미야에게 사명을 감당할 수 있는 힘을 주시고 악인들의 손에서 건져 주실 것을 약속하셨다. 또한 예레미야의 생활을 통해 유다의 심판에 대해 상징적으로 보여 주셨으며, 유다 백성이 징계를 받아 장차 이방 땅에서 이방 신을 섬기게 되지만 때가 되면 다시 회복시킬 것도 아울러 약속하셨다.
  
  탄식과 위로(15:1-15:21)    
 
  1. 그 때에 주님께서는 나에게 말씀하셨다. "비록 모세와 사무엘이 내 앞에 나와 빈다고 해도, 내가 이 백성에게 마음을 기울이지 않을 것이다. 이 백성을 내 앞에서 쫓아내라!
  2. 그들이 너에게 '어디로 가야 하느냐' 하고 묻거든, 너는 그들에게 이렇게 대답하여라. 나 주가 말한다. '어디를 가든지, 염병에 걸려 죽을 자는 염병에 걸려 죽고, 칼에 맞아 죽을 자는 칼에 맞아 죽고, 굶어 죽을 자는 굶어 죽고, 포로로 끌려갈 자는 포로로 끌려갈 것이다.'
  3. 나는 이렇게 네 가지로 그들을 벌할 것이다. 그들을 칼에 맞아 죽게 하며, 개가 그들을 뜯어먹게 하며, 공중의 새가 그들의 시체를 쪼아먹게 하며, 들짐승이 그들을 먹어 치우게 할 것이다. 나 주의 말이다.
  4. 내가 이렇게 하여 그들로 세상 만국을 놀라게 할 것이니, 이는 히스기야의 아들 므낫세가 유다 왕으로서 예루살렘에서 죄를 지었기 때문이다."
  5. "예루살렘아, 누가 너를 불쌍히 여기겠느냐? 누가 너를 생각하여 위로의 눈물을 흘리며, 누가 네 안부라도 물으려고 들러 보겠느냐?
  1. Then the LORD said to me, "Even though Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not be with this people; send them away from My presence and let them go!
  2. "And it shall be that when they say to you, 'Where should we go?' then you are to tell them, 'Thus says the LORD: "Those destined for death, to death; And those destined for the sword, to the sword; And those destined for famine, to famine; And those destined for captivity, to captivity."'
  3. "I will appoint over them four kinds of doom," declares the LORD: "the sword to slay, the dogs to drag off, and the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.
  4. "I will make them an object of horror among all the kingdoms of the earth because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, the king of Judah, for what he did in Jerusalem.
  5. "Indeed, who will have pity on you, O Jerusalem, Or who will mourn for you, Or who will turn aside to ask about your welfare?
  1. 네가 바로 나를 버린 자다. 나 주의 말이다. 너는 늘 나에게 등을 돌리고 떠나갔다. 나는 이제 너를 불쌍히 여기기에도 지쳤다. 너를 멸망시키려고 내가 손을 들었다."
  2. "내가 이 땅의 모든 성문 앞에서, 내 백성들을 키질하여 흩어 버리겠다. 모두들 자식을 잃고 망할 것이다. 그들이 그릇된 길에서 돌이키지 않으려 하기 때문이다.
  3. 내가 이 백성 가운데서 과부를 바닷가의 모래보다도 더 많게 하겠다. 내가 대낮에 침략군을 끌어들여 갑자기 그들을 치게 하고, 젊은이들과 그들의 어머니들을 치게 하고, 모두들 놀라고 두려워하며 떨게 하겠다.
  4. 아들을 일곱이나 둔 여인도 아들을 잃고 기절할 것이다. 그 여인에게 대낮은 이미 칠흑 같은 밤이다. 그 여인은 비천한 신세가 될 것이다. 살아 남은 자식들은, 원수들이 보는 앞에서 칼에 맞아 죽게 하겠다. 나 주의 말이다."
  5. 아! 어머니 원통합니다. 왜 나를 낳으셨습니까? 온 세상이 다 나에게 시비를 걸어오고, 싸움을 걸어옵니다. 나는 아무에게도 빚을 진 일도 없고, 빚을 준 일도 없는데, 모든 사람이 다 나를 저주합니다.
  1. "You who have forsaken Me," declares the LORD, "You keep going backward So I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you; I am tired of relenting!
  2. "I will winnow them with a winnowing fork At the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy My people; They did not repent of their ways.
  3. "Their widows will be more numerous before Me Than the sand of the seas; I will bring against them, against the mother of a young man, A destroyer at noonday; I will suddenly bring down on her Anguish and dismay.
  4. "She who bore seven sons pines away; Her breathing is labored Her sun has set while it was yet day; She has been shamed and humiliated So I will give over their survivors to the sword Before their enemies," declares the LORD.
  5. Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me As a man of strife and a man of contention to all the land! I have not lent, nor have men lent money to me, Yet everyone curses me.
  1. 주님께서 말씀하셨다. "내가 분명히 너를 강하게 해주고, 네가 복을 누리게 하겠다. 네 원수가 재앙을 당하여 궁지에 빠질 때에, 그가 너를 찾아와서 간청하게 하겠다."
  2. "누가 쇠 곧 북녘에서 오는 쇠와 놋쇠를 부술 수 있겠느냐?
  3. 유다 백성아, 너희가 나라 구석구석에서 지은 모든 죄 값으로, 너희의 재산과 보물을 아무런 값도 못받는 약탈품으로 원수에게 내주겠다.
  4. 나는 너희를, 너희가 알지도 못하는 땅으로 끌고가서, 너희 원수들을 섬기게 하겠다. 내 분노가 불처럼 타올라 너희를 사를 것이다."
  5. 주님, 주님께서는 저를 아시니, 저를 잊지 말고 돌보아 주십시오. 저를 핍박하는 사람들에게 원수를 갚아 주십시오! 주님께서 진노를 오래 참으시다가 그만, 저를 잡혀 죽게 하시는 일은 없게 하여 주십시오. 제가 주님 때문에 이렇게 수모를 당하는 줄을, 주님께서 알아 주십시오.
  1. The LORD said, "Surely I will set you free for purposes of good; Surely I will cause the enemy to make supplication to you In a time of disaster and a time of distress.
  2. "Can anyone smash iron, Iron from the north, or bronze?
  3. "Your wealth and your treasures I will give for booty without cost, Even for all your sins And within all your borders.
  4. "Then I will cause your enemies to bring it Into a land you do not know; For a fire has been kindled in My anger, It will burn upon you."
  5. You who know, O LORD, Remember me, take notice of me, And take vengeance for me on my persecutors Do not, in view of Your patience, take me away; Know that for Your sake I endure reproach.
  1. 만군의 주 하나님, 저는 주님의 이름으로 불리는 사람입니다. 주님께서 저에게 말씀을 주셨을 때에, 저는 그 말씀을 받아먹었습니다. 주님의 말씀은 저에게 기쁨이 되었고, 제 마음에 즐거움이 되었습니다.
  2. 저는, 웃으며 떠들어대는 사람들과 함께 어울려 즐거워하지도 않습니다. 주님께서 채우신 분노를 가득 안은 채로, 주님의 손에 붙들려 외롭게 앉아 있습니다.
  3. 어찌하여 저의 고통은 그치지 않습니까? 어찌하여 저의 상처는 낫지 않습니까? 주님께서는, 흐르다가도 마르고 마르다가도 흐르는 여름철의 시냇물처럼, 도무지 믿을 수 없는 분이 되셨습니다.
  4. "나 주가 말한다. 네가 돌아오면, 내가 너를 다시 맞아들여 나를 섬기게 하겠다. 또 네가 천박한 것을 말하지 않고, 귀한 말을 선포하면, 너는 다시 나의 대변자가 될 것이다. 너에게로 돌아와야 할 사람들은 그들이다. 네가 그들에게 돌아가서는 안 된다.
  5. 내가 너를 튼튼한 놋쇠 성벽으로 만들어서 이 백성과 맞서게 하겠다. 그들이 너에게 맞서서 덤벼들겠지만, 너를 이기지는 못할 것이다. 내가 반드시 너와 함께 있어서, 너를 도와주고, 너를 구원하여 주겠다. 나 주의 말이다.
  1. Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.
  2. I did not sit in the circle of merrymakers, Nor did I exult Because of Your hand upon me I sat alone, For You filled me with indignation.
  3. Why has my pain been perpetual And my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will You indeed be to me like a deceptive stream With water that is unreliable?
  4. Therefore, thus says the LORD, "If you return, then I will restore you-- Before Me you will stand; And if you extract the precious from the worthless, You will become My spokesman. They for their part may turn to you, But as for you, you must not turn to them.
  5. "Then I will make you to this people A fortified wall of bronze; And though they fight against you, They will not prevail over you; For I am with you to save you And deliver you," declares the LORD.
  1. 내가 너를 악인들의 손에서도 건져내고, 잔악한 사람들의 손에서도 구하여 내겠다."
  1. "So I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, And I will redeem you from the grasp of the violent."
 
  재앙과 회복(16:1-16:21)    
 
  1. 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 이 곳에서 아내를 맞거나, 아들이나 딸을 낳거나, 하지 말아라.
  3. 나 주가, 이 곳에서 태어날 아들딸과, 이 땅에서 아들딸을 임신할 어머니들과, 아들딸을 낳을 아버지들이, 어떻게 될 것인지를 말하여 주겠다.
  4. 사람들이 혹독한 질병으로 죽을지라도, 울어 줄 사람도 없고, 묻어 줄 사람도 없어서, 죽은 사람들은 땅 위에 뒹구는 거름덩이처럼 될 것이다. 전쟁에서 죽거나 굶주려서 죽은 사람들의 시체는, 공중의 새와 들짐승의 먹이가 될 것이다."
  5. "그렇다. 나 주가 말한다. 너는 초상집에 가지 말아라. 가서 곡하지도 말고, 유가족을 위로하여 주지도 말아라. 이것은 내가 이 백성에게 베푼 평화와 사랑과 자비를, 다시 거두어들였기 때문이다. 나 주의 말이다.
  1. The word of the LORD also came to me saying,
  2. "You shall not take a wife for yourself nor have sons or daughters in this place."
  3. For thus says the LORD concerning the sons and daughters born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bear them, and their fathers who beget them in this land:
  4. "They will die of deadly diseases, they will not be lamented or buried; they will be as dung on the surface of the ground and come to an end by sword and famine, and their carcasses will become food for the birds of the sky and for the beasts of the earth."
  5. For thus says the LORD, "Do not enter a house of mourning, or go to lament or to console them; for I have withdrawn My peace from this people," declares the LORD, "My lovingkindness and compassion.
  1. 이 땅에서는 높은 사람이나 낮은 사람이나 다 죽을 것이다. 그러나 그들을 묻어 줄 사람도 없고, 그들의 죽음을 곡하여 줄 사람도 없고, 그들이 죽어서 슬프다고 자신의 몸에 상처를 내거나 머리를 밀어 애도할 사람도 없을 것이다.
  2. 그 때에는 죽은 사람의 유가족을 위로하려고 그들과 함께 음식을 나누는 사람도 없을 것이며, 친부모를 잃은 사람에게도 위로의 잔을 건넬 사람이 없을 것이다."
  3. "너는 사람들이 함께 앉아서 먹고 마시는 잔칫집에도 들어가지 말아라!"
  4. "나 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 나는 너희들이 흥겨워하는 소리와 기뻐하는 소리와 즐거워하는 신랑 신부의 목소리를, 너희들이 보는 앞에서 너희 시대에 이 곳에서 사라지게 하겠다.
  5. 그러나 네가 이 백성에게 이 모든 말을 전달하면, 그들이 너에게 묻기를 '무엇 때문에 주님께서 이토록 무서운 재앙을 모두 우리에게 선포하시는가? 우리가 주 우리의 하나님께 무슨 죄를 짓고, 무슨 잘못을 저질렀단 말인가?' 하고 물을 것이다.
  1. "Both great men and small will die in this land; they will not be buried, they will not be lamented, nor will anyone gash himself or shave his head for them.
  2. "Men will not break bread in mourning for them, to comfort anyone for the dead, nor give them a cup of consolation to drink for anyone's father or mother.
  3. "Moreover you shall not go into a house of feasting to sit with them to eat and drink."
  4. For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Behold, I am going to eliminate from this place, before your eyes and in your time, the voice of rejoicing and the voice of gladness, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride.
  5. "Now when you tell this people all these words, they will say to you, 'For what reason has the LORD declared all this great calamity against us? And what is our iniquity, or what is our sin which we have committed against the LORD our God?'
  1. 그러면 너는 이렇게 대답하여라. '나 주의 말이다. 너희 조상이 나를 버리고 다른 신들을 쫓아가서, 그들을 섬기며 경배하였다. 너희 조상이 나를 버리고 내 율법을 지키지 않았다.
  2. 그런데 너희는 너희 조상들보다도 더 악한 일을 하였다. 너희는 각자 자신의 악한 마음에서 나오는 고집대로 살아가며, 내 명령을 따라 순종하지 않았다.
  3. 그러므로 내가 너희를 이 땅에서 쫓아내어, 너희가 알지 못하는 땅, 너희 조상도 알지 못하던 땅에 이르게 하겠다. 그러면 너희가 거기에서, 낮이나 밤이나 다른 신들을 섬길 것이며, 나는 너희에게 다시는 긍휼을 베풀지 않을 것이다.'"
  4. "그러므로 보아라, 나 주의 말이다. 그 날이 지금 오고 있다. 그 때에는 사람들이 더 이상 '이스라엘 백성을 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내신 주'의 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하지 않고,
  5. '이스라엘 백성이 쫓겨가서 살던 북녘 땅과 그 밖의 모든 나라에서 그들을 이끌어 내신 주'의 살아 계심을 두고 맹세할 것이다. 나는 그들의 조상에게 주었던 고향 땅에 그들을 다시 데려다 놓을 것이다."
  1. "Then you are to say to them, 'It is because your forefathers have forsaken Me,' declares the LORD, 'and have followed other gods and served them and bowed down to them; but Me they have forsaken and have not kept My law.
  2. 'You too have done evil, even more than your forefathers; for behold, you are each one walking according to the stubbornness of his own evil heart, without listening to Me.
  3. 'So I will hurl you out of this land into the land which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will grant you no favor.'
  4. "Therefore behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when it will no longer be said, 'As the LORD lives, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,'
  5. but, 'As the LORD lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north and from all the countries where He had banished them.' For I will restore them to their own land which I gave to their fathers.
  1. "내가 많은 어부를 보내서, 이 백성을 고기 잡듯 잡아 내겠다. 나 주의 말이다. 그런 다음에, 많은 사냥꾼을 보내서 모든 산과 모든 언덕과 바위 틈을 샅샅이 뒤져서, 그들을 사냥하듯 잡아내겠다.
  2. 내가 그들의 모든 행실을 똑똑히 지켜 보고 있기 때문에, 그들도 내 앞에서 숨을 수가 없고, 그들의 죄악도 내 눈 앞에서 감추어질 수가 없다.
  3. 그들이 시체 같은 우상으로 내 땅을 더럽히고, 내가 그들에게 물려준 땅을 역겨운 우상들로 가득 채워 놓았으니, 나는 이렇게 우선 그들의 죄악과 허물을 갑절로 보복하겠다."
  4. 주님, 내가 환난을 당할 때에, 주님은 나의 힘과 요새와 피난처가 되십니다. 세상 만민이 모든 땅 끝에서, 주님을 찾아와 아뢸 것입니다. '우리의 조상이 물려준 것은, 거짓되고 헛되며, 전혀 쓸모가 없는 것뿐입니다.
  5. 사람이 어찌 자기들이 섬길 신들을 만들 수 있겠습니까? 그런 것들이 어찌 신들이 될 수 있겠습니까?'
  1. "Behold, I am going to send for many fishermen," declares the LORD, "and they will fish for them; and afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain and every hill and from the clefts of the rocks.
  2. "For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity concealed from My eyes.
  3. "I will first doubly repay their iniquity and their sin, because they have polluted My land; they have filled My inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable idols and with their abominations."
  4. O LORD, my strength and my stronghold, And my refuge in the day of distress, To You the nations will come From the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood, Futility and things of no profit."
  5. Can man make gods for himself? Yet they are not gods!
  1. "그러므로 보아라, 내가 그들에게 알리겠다. 이번에는 나의 권세와 능력을 그들에게 알려서, 나의 이름이 '주'라는 것을 그들이 깨닫게 하겠다."
  1. "Therefore behold, I am going to make them know-- This time I will make them know My power and My might; And they shall know that My name is the LORD."
 
  속이는 시내( 15:18)  비가 오면 물줄기를 이루다가 이내 사라지고 마는 와디 현상으로, 중동 지역에서 흔히 볼 수 있다  
  망탄(妄誕, 16:19)  어리석고 허무한 것
